An Trasnán in Ballylanders (formerly An Poc Fada) is now under the management of Brian O'Callaghan and Edel Moloney. This well situated pub, which includes an adjoining off licence had its official opening on Saturday night last.

The opening and subsequent party attracted a very large crowd, all of whom enjoyed exciting new band, 'Lifeline' and the complimentary food.
Speaking to The Avondhu following the tape cutting ceremony, Brian said he was looking forward to establishing 'An Trasnán' as an inviting, friendly and well run bar, ready and able to accommodate party nights, 21st other birthdays, retirements and indeed any occasion that merited a get-together. He went on to say he hoped to build on the work of the previous management while at the same time putting his and Edel's personal stamp on proceedings.

The bar can easily accommodate DJs and live bands and an adjacent facility looks after the needs of smokers. The off-licence side of things is also important and there are ongoing price promotions on cans and bottles. Last Saturday night's celebrations marks the start of what will hopefully be a long and productive relationship between Brian O'Callaghan and Edel Moloney with the people of Ballylanders and beyond.
