John O’Donoghue, from Mitchelstown, was one of 42 individuals presented with awards by Ceann Comhairle Seán Barrett, TD, in recognition of outstanding acts of bravery at a national ceremony in Farmleigh House last Friday, November 13.

The honours were awarded by Comhairle na Mire Gaile, the Deeds of Bravery Council established in 1947 to provide for suitable recognition by the State of deeds of bravery.
