Sisters Mya (8) and Ria (5) Celisse from Lismore will be appearing on the Late Late Toy Show on Friday, November 30 as the official doll toy testers.
The dynamic duo are very excited for the dolls to arrive to their home in Lismore this weekend where they will have just less than a week to see just how good the latest dolls are.
The girls’ mom Aislinn, owns the Hair and Beauty Gallery in Lismore and said she sent off a few videos of the girls to RTE, ‘just one day before the deadline’.
They were shocked when they got the call inviting them to audition on October 31 in front of TV cameras and production staff at RTE studios in Donnybrook in Dublin.
“Even that alone was such an amazing experience for them to be in front of the big cameras. They are well able to talk so that was half the battle,” Aislinn told The Avondhu.
The girls were in the audition room for about 20 minutes and even broke into song while telling the RTE staff about their own dolls that they had brought from home.
Then, only last Thursday, Aislinn got the call to say that the girls had been picked as the official doll testers for the live Late Late Toy Show.
“I was like a child at Christmas myself when I heard it,” said Aislinn.
PREPARATION
Straight away the girls set about planning their hair and their outfits which they are getting made by Muiri K Boutique in Dungarvan, especially for the show.
“I already have my toenails done with stripes and dots,” Ria told The Avondhu. “I’ll have my hair done with red and in curls.”
On the other hand, Mya has been practicing some hair and beauty pampering on her own Our Generation dolls at home.
“I play salon with them. If Ryan (Tubridy) was here now I’d do his eyelashes and Ria could paint his nails,” Mya said.
The girls love to sing too and the songs from The Greatest Showman are on their list of favoutires at the moment. It sounds like there’s a high chance of hearing a few bars of ‘This is Me’ on next Friday night if they get a chance.
THE BIG DAY
The girls will travel to Dublin with Aislinn on next Thursday night, November 28 to make sure they get their beauty sleep before the big day that every child dreams of.
They have a full rehearsal with Ryan and the crew early on Friday morning and they will return at around 7pm for the live show.
Their stepdad Brian Lenihan, who is on duty with the local fire service on the day, will travel up to Dublin on Friday night to give the girls a big hug after the show.
We wish Mya and Ria the best of luck in their Toy Show debut!
