Mitchelstown Golf Club are celebrating a fantastic victory, after the trio of Catherine Kavanagh, Rita O’Brien and Lisa Brennock were crowned the winners of the Munster Cup on Wednesday last week.
Beating 37 other teams for the honour, the team were an impressive 13 shots clear of runners-up Adare Manor Golf Club, with an aggregate score of 220 net.
The victory was made even sweeter as Catherine Kavanagh achieved the best individual gross score of 80, in a field of 114 players.
Speaking with The Avondhu, Ms Kavanagh said that the team were “over the moon” with the win, saying her success was down to one simple fact: “I played exceptionally well on the day!”
