The team behind this year’s ‘Fermoy Goes Country’ event are thrilled to have Cliona Hagan on the programme alongside Mike Denver, Louise Morrissey, Brendan Shine and Declan Aungier.
In less than ten years, the Co Tyrone native has garnered more awards than she can count including the Sunday World ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ award which she has won on numerous occasions.
Early in Cliona’s career, the legendary Queen of Country Music, Philomena Begley, speaking on RTÉ’s ‘Late Late Country Special’ predicted that newcomer Cliona would very quickly make her mark on the Irish and UK Country Music Scene to a viewing audience of 1.3 million. True to those words, Cliona took the scene by storm, and has continued to build on he fan base at every dance and concert where she performs.
A listen to some of her many recordings will convince you that she is a very rare talent indeed and while she is often compared to Dolly Parton, is well able to plough her own furrow in the entertainment business.
Come along and give her a big welcome in Fermoy’s Fitzgerald Park on Sunday, August 20th.
Tickets are available locally from: Shinnick’s Spar, Fermoy; Marela’s Fermoy and Barnes’ Jewellers, Fermoy or by logging on to www.gr8events.ie/fermoygoescountry2023.
