The exciting sport of motocross is the big attraction in Knockadea Community & Sports Club (site of the old school house in Knockadea) on Sunday next, September 14.
These scrambler style bikes and quads generated a lot of interest last year with organisers particularly pleased with the challenging course. This event coincides with the 4th round of this year's Grass Championship, so, some very competitive racing is expected. To adhere to the schedule, racing will start at 1pm sharp.
Proceeds from the day going to St Joseph's Foundation, Charleville
Families of those who avail of the services at St Joseph's Foundation in Charleville are universal in their praise of facilities and staff. The foundation provides those with special needs a variety of educational opportunities that greatly enhance their quality of life. It relies heavily on donations and events such as next Sunday are invaluable in helping to finance the foundation's many services.
DON'T FORGET THE 'NOVELTY RAFFLE'
The 'Novelty Raffle', involving a cow and several plots of ground, is another innovation by Knockadea Community & Sports Club - tickets will be available on the day - again, the public are asked to support this novel fundraiser.
PUBLIC WILL BE LOOKED AFTER IN MARQUEE
A shop and on-course marquee will help cater for spectators - teas and refreshments will be served.
KNOW YOUR BEARINGS
While locals will be very familiar with Knockadea Community & Sports Club, those from outside the catchment may not be as familiar and as a result the location's GPS co-ordinates are being carried on all promotional material - they are as follows N52º 19'21.1 W008º 20'40.0
WEATHER LOOKING GOOD
Normally, at this time of year, those hosting outdoor events would be fretting, however, thanks to our most welcome 'Indian Summer', this isn't an issue - for the time being at least. The forecast is very good for the weekend and what better way to spend an afternoon than following the thrills and spills of motocross racing.
A THANK YOU TO SPONSORS
Members of Knockadea Community & Sports Club are extremely thankful to their loyal sponsors for their continuing support - we also take this opportunity to encourage the public to support the businesses associated with this promotional feature.
