On Friday last, people took to the streets of Mitchelstown to make a difference to the future of the town in a 'Walk the Town' initiative with AROMA and two landscape architects.

Kay Dawson said that they were delighted with the turnout and the fact that everyone who came along actively took part in a discussion about the town and contributed ideas about what can be added to it to improve it.

The landscape architects commented that Mitchelstown is one of a handful of towns that hasn't had its natural beauty tainted by developments, so there is a good base to work from in the town and they said that the town is a good model to follow.

Many ideas were thrown into the pot on the night and from there, the ideas will grow to hopefully transform Mitchelstown into the town that is in people's visions and dreams.
