Last month, CBS Mitchelstown student Richard Maher had his short story entitled 'A Tattered Coat' selected for inclusion in Volume 3 of ‘Wild Words’. This is the national publication for teenage writers that forms part of the Wild Words Children's Book Festival in Leitrim every August.

In addition to his publication, the Transition Year student also won entry to a two-day masterclass workshop with authors, publishers and bloggers. Richard says 'Wild Words' was an excellent experience which afforded him the opportunity of meeting with lots of interesting people and partaking in fun and engaging workshops.

Richard is a very talented writer and this is in all likelihood but one of the many successes he will experience in the literary world.
