Mitchelstown Community Forum is now one step closer to owning the Community Enterprise Centre and are hopeful that it will attract an international trading company or be used for an international distribution centre.
The Forum, who were ready to buy the building since last November, were delayed by the application for charitable status, which came through at the last minute. They have to get the paperwork finalised before they can move to purchase, but would hope to hold a launch after the summer period.
The building has ten large offices, several training rooms, a board room and an industrial unit with artic loading bays.
GREAT OPPORTUNITY
Manager Catherine Monaghan said that in her opinion, the building would be ideally suited to somoene who wants to store goods and trade online; it would also be perfect for manufacturing, but she said that they would love to see people thinking outside the box.
"One of the biggest inhibitors to business expansion and growth is the lack of support for young entrepreneurs from people who understand what they are doing. There is also a need to "plug in" to the world around them which can be difficult to know about and navigate as you also are trying to sell your product and service.
"We can do that for you. We will connect you with all of the right people to get your business to where you want it to go. It is all about connectivity these days - the world is still shrinking," she added.
In the Enterprise Centre, there will be a great energy, as existing businesses expand and entrepreneurs with start-ups get their businesses established.
