This year's CBS Primary Mitchelstown annual quiz saw quiz enthusiasts muster up all they knew about general knowledge, as the tough questions brought out the competitive streak in all those who took part.

The Heritage Heroes went home with the honour of first place, while Lisa's Lads came second and Simple Minds claimed third place. The money raised from the night will be used to benefit the pupils of CBS Primary.

Organisers told The Avondhu that it was a fun night, all in the aid of a good cause. They wish to thank The Hunter's Rest for hosting the quiz, John Hickey who was quiz master, Dave Mulcahy for arranging the sound and all of the clubs, organisations and individuals who supported the night or helped out in any way.

The parents' council also wish to thank the sponsors of the spot prizes: BH Tree Services, Rea Refrigeration, The Hunter's Rest, Kevin and Deirdre O'Gorman, the Whelan family, Mags and Alan Luddy, Breda Crotty, Monica Hodgins, Jane O'Shea, Aideen Flynn, Tom, Gertie and Michael Condon and Johanne Davern.
