The Mitchelstown Badminton Club gathering with the Return of the Shuttles was held in The Firgrove Hotel on Friday evening (October 4).

It was wonderful meeting up again with former club members. It was indeed a return of the shuttles as most everyone attending had some association with the club. Unfortunately, our three founding members, Kevin O'Brien, Helen Carey O'Brien and John B O'Shea have gone to their eternal reward, but they were very much in our thoughts on the night.

As the club is in existence since 1958, it was great to have some former members from the early days with us to celebrate our gathering.

One member in particular Paddy Tierney send his apoligies as he was unable to attend. Paddy was a star player in his day. Thanks to our hardworking committee as they had left no stone unturned in making it a night to remember. Also, thanks to the people who sponsored spot prizes.

Thanks to Dave Mulcahy who made sure that everyone enjoyed the music as they danced the night away.
