Million euro plans for St George’s Church Mitchelstown

The Avondhu has learned that a one-million-euro plan will ensure the conversion of one of Mitchelstown’s most iconic buildings into an arts and heritage space unlike any other in County Cork.

Plans by a newly formed local company are at a very advanced stage to purchase and restore the former Church of Ireland building in the town as an arts and heritage centre.

Brigown Arts and Heritage Project has been established as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee to purchase the former Saint George’s Church and convert it into one of the premier centres of its kind in the region.
