The closure of McGrath’s Shop in Kilbehenny on Sunday last, signalled a sad day for the local community, who within a short time have lost both their post office service and now the local shop.
'Economics' as explained by proprietor Billy McGrath, brought about an end to a valuable amenity within the South Limerick village, a service the McGrath’s had been providing for near on 22 years, having taken over the premises on August 1, 1997.
Well wishers and Mass goers called on Sunday last thanking Billy and his wife Niamh and wishing them well into their future.
