The Manic Street Preachers, The Coronas and Sigma are to headline the Indiependence Music Festival at the Deer Park in Mitchelstown next summer.
Welsh trio The Manic Street Preachers, will make their first appearance at Indiependence, having previously headlined the likes of Glastonbury, T in the Park, V Festival and Reading.
The Coronas return to Indie four years after they last headlined the festival. The band’s latest album ‘The Long Way’ has already achieved platinum sales and they will have a new album out in 2017.
Also announced to play Indie17 is Sigma (DJs Cam Edwards and Joe Lenzie) who had number one hits with ‘Changing’ featuring Paloma Faith and ‘Nobody To Love’.
Indie has steadily grown in size since it began in 2006, attracting festivalgoers from all over Ireland and further afield, seeing the festival increase to a sold-out 10,000 capacity event in 2016.
In addition to some of the best Irish and international music acts, Indie has brought a strong comedy, spoken word and dance line-up to Deer Farm.
Early bird tickets for the festival sold out in two minutes and tier one and tier two tickets sold out within 30 minutes of going on sale. Indiependence will take place from August 4 to August 6, 2017.
The tier three weekend camping ticket costs €119, with a VIP Indie garden upgrade costing €50. Tickets are available online at www.tickets.ie with a limited amount on sale at Mitchelstown Post Office.
