The end came on Friday last (October 19) for Araglin Creamery on what was a beautiful Autumn day.
The individuals that gathered were sons and daughters of the founding fathers (mothers) and the mood was reflective, as those in attendance tucked in to tea and sandwiches.
It fell to a small group of locals led by Sean O’Doherty from Gortnaskehy to mark the occasion.
There was no fanfare, the speeches were short and no one was in any doubt that Araglin Creamery and its store was being consigned to the history books.
