Loreto Secondary School teacher Eimear O’Donnell was part of the Killarney Ladies Team that won the AIG Senior Foursomes title in Malone Golf Club, Belfast, last weekend, following on from their success in the All-Ireland Senior Cup in August.
Eimear, a Home Economics teacher in Loreto, sunk a five-foot putt in the third play-off hole of the final match to secure an historic double for the Kerry club.
Speaking to The Avondhu this week, Eimear expressed her appreciation for the support she has received from Loreto and from the wider community in Fermoy.
“The staff were so delighted that I was going to an All-Ireland final and they were just so supportive. The students were delighted when I showed them the medal, they were asking all about it."
