Following their historic victory in March, the ladies footballers from Loreto Secondary School, Fermoy are to be honoured with a civic reception by the local town council.

This was called for by Cllr Collette Moore at a recent meeting of the town council, where she congratulated the girls on their momentous victory and said that they made history ‘for their school and for the town’.

It was agreed that the players would have a civic reception before their exams, in honour of their victory. On March 20, they defeated Galway to be crowned senior A All-Ireland champions in the senior schools’ competition.
