What's in a name? Well, for any O'Sullivans or Sullivans, it means that they have the chance to be part of something huge, as there will be an attempt this summer to break the current Guinness world record for the largest gathering of people in the same place with the same surname.

The O'Sullivan Clan Gathering will take place in Sneem in County Kerry on Saturday, June 15 and with the name being so popular across Cork, Waterford, Limerick and Tipperary, there are sure to be some O'Sullivan or Sullivan readers of The Avondhu, who will grasp this opportunity to be part of history.

The current record is held by the Gallagher's when 1,488 people with the surname Gallagher all gathered in the same place, so the organisers are urging O'Sullivans and Sullivans from every corner of the globe to join them for this momentous effort.

The world record attempt on June 15 will take place during the O'Sullivan Clan Gathering in Sneem, which runs from June 10-16. For more information visit
