An Avondhu resident who is holidaying in virus-struck Italy has said that locals appeared to be unfazed by the the Covid-19 outbreak.
Italy is now on lockdown after more than 630 people died because of the infection which took hold in northern regions.
Skeheenarinky native Sean Crotty and his wife Margaret, were holidaying in Rome until Wednesday of this week and they spoke to The Avondhu about their experiences on the ground in the Italian capital.
Speaking from the centre of the city, they said that the Italian way of dealing with the virus is in stark contrast to Ireland’s panic.
