Progressing on and off the field – that’s the story at Kilworth Celtic FC, whose grounds in Sheila Flynn Park in the heart of the village continue to be fine tuned.

The FAI’s Development Officer, Ray Claffey turned up to conduct some official business – in this instance the presentation of a Club Mark Award – official recognition that a club is adhering to best practice in the governance, management and administration of a football club.

Speaking to The Avondhu, Ray said it was just reward for the high standards that are being set in Kilworth and in his words ‘one of many’ that would come the club’s way in the years ahead.
