A decision by a number of runners from Rathcormac to take part in this year’s Cork City Marathon resulted in €11,105 being raised for Enable Ireland – an organisation that does outstanding work for those who have a physical disability.
The runners concerned and their supporters were in Barry’s Bar, Rathcormac last Saturday night to hand over proceeds to Enable Ireland representative, Jennifer Marshall. Acknowledging the fantastic effort of those involved, Jennifer said they were an inspiration to everyone.
“This was a very daunting undertaking by a brave group of women, what they’ve achieved is incredible – that they’ve done this for Enable Ireland is truly inspiring” she said.
