Delegations from both the IFA and ICMSA were at Corrin Event Centre (Corrin Livestock Mart) last Friday to meet Minister for Agriculture, Food & Marine, Deputy Charlie McConalogue.
Minister McConalogue addressed the gathering for over an hour, discussing a variety of issues, most notably, proposed changes to the Common Agricultural Policy (C.A.P.).
While dairying is on the crest of a wave at the moment with exceptionally strong demand for milk, other sectors are not performing as well – a point touched on by Anne Baker, who heads up the IFA in north Cork.
