The novel pairing of Abbey Rovers (Castletownroche) and Grange contest Friday evening’s McCarthy Insurance Group Junior C football county final in Glanworth.
This competition has been a great success since it was introduced. Aimed at smaller clubs, much of its success is down to the competitiveness of the teams. A quick glance at this year’s results back this up, with very little separating any of the competing clubs.
The 2 teams who have won through to this year’s final are very familiar with each other, as both compete in the Junior B section of the Avondhu football championship. Needless to say, there’s a lot at stake on Friday evening.
