Lismore sisters spreading Christmas cheer

With new challenges facing communities across the country this year due to Covd-19, two Lismore ladies have decided to reach out to the vulnerable and elderly in their community.

Sisters Alice and Sarah Russell, have banded together with volunteers to organise and deliver Christmas gift bags to those in the community who are elderly, vulnerable, cocooning or might be alone at Christmas to help spread some seasonal cheer.

Alice and her sister Sarah were both living abroad until Covid-19 hit, Alice was in Australia, while Sarah was in Vietnam and, while it may have been a difficult decision for them to make, Alice said that she realised how lucky they were.

“We’re lucky, a lot of people are having to cocoon and they might have family or friends living abroad that can’t come home for Christmas this year, or they might just be alone, so it’s nice to give them a gift.”
