A serial award winner in athletics, there are few superlatives remaining to describe the achievements of Mitchelstown athlete, Kotryna Pacerinskaite, following her record breaking performance last weekend at the National Senior Indoor Championships.
Setting a new national record in the Weight For Distance (28lb) senior women’s event, the Mitchelstown native and University of Limerick student, threw the weight a whopping 8.70 metres with her final throw, smashing her record by 40 centimetres and well over 2 metres ahead of her nearest rival on the day.
“Setting the national record is always an amazing feeling, I was just competing with myself as the previous record was mine also,” a modest Kotryna told The Avondhu this week.
