Kia product offensive continues with K4 now available in Ireland

Kia Ireland launched the K4 Hatchback to the Irish motoring media at an event in Wicklow this week. The K4 blurs the line differentiating the C- and D-segment and boasts a dynamic look that is based on the company’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy. The K4 is designed to meet the demands of modern drivers, offering generous interior space, premium features and advanced technologies.

K4 introduces an expressive new design with generous exterior dimensions of 4,440mm in length and 1,850mm wide. Its spacious interior offers passengers class-leading rear legroom of 964mm and substantial headroom of 973mm. Behind the rear seats, customers can make use of 328 litres of boot space, making it ideal for family life or weekend trips.

The K4 design turns heads, with a distinctive floating roofline that slips elegantly into the rear hatch. Key design cues include the Star Map Signature Lighting inspired by the EV9 and rear hidden door handles integrated into the C-pillar. The K4 launches in Ireland with a 1.0 T-GDI Mild-Hybrid (MHEV) petrol engine (115 PS) with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A 1.6 GDI Hybrid (HEV) version featuring 154 PS will arrive before the end of the year also.

The K4 carries a dynamic DNA but goes further in comfort and refinement. Praised for its agile and engaging character, the K4 builds on Kia’s strong C-segment experience by offering a smooth drive that adds a refined touch to every change in road surface. Extensive testing by Kia Europe engineers ensured a fine-tuning of the chassis.

As a result, the K4 feels intuitive, confident, and composed. Springs, anti-roll bars, shock absorbers and engine mounts have been optimised to ensure a more settled, balanced drive while a direct steering ratio enhances agility when cornering. Together, these details give the K4 a balanced drive that is smooth and secure while still being responsive and sporty.

The K4 is available in Ireland in three trim levels. The K2 baseline model starts from €31,500 and offers a high level of standard specification including Kia’s triple panoramic display (12.3″ touchscreen infotainment + 5.3” climate control + 12.3” digital drivers cluster), 16″ alloys, dual-zone climate control, forward & reverse parking sensors, forward collision avoidance assist, heated steering wheel & front seats, LED headlights, over-the-air updates and wireless carplay & android auto.

The mid-level trim is a K3 model which offers additional features such as 17″ alloys, vegan leather seats, black & chrome exterior detailing, cube projection LED headlights, rear blind-spot collision avoidance assist, driver power adjustable seats with lumbar support, wireless charging and rear privacy glass for €34,000.

The range topping GT-Line adds a digital key 2.0, driver memory seat, forward collision avoidance assist 2, glass sunroof, GT-Line exterior & interior styling, highway driving assist 2 , smart cruise control 2 with stop & go, ventilated front & heated rear seats for €38,500. The K4 comes in a choice of seven colours including two non-metallic colours and vehicles are now available to test drive at Kia dealerships nationwide.
