Kotryna dominates with new record at senior championships

The 123.ie National Senior Track and Field Championships were held last weekend, with one Mitchelstown athlete achieving success in her field yet again, in superb style.

Kotryna Pacerinskaite of Fanahan McSweeney Athletics Club dominated the women’s senior Weight For Distance event, with five times out of her six attempts surpassing the 8 metre mark, with her longest distance reaching a whopping 8.33m, achieving a new championship best. 

The previous record was held by Olga Nedvede of Dooneen Athletics Club, Limerick, who achieved a distance of 7.88m last year.
