To mark Road Safety Awareness Week, which runs until Sunday, October 12, the students of Knockadea NS were sporting their high visibility jackets, courtesy of the RSA, to highlight the importance of being safe and vigilant on our roads.

Students from the country school will be learning about road safety awareness and the importance of wearing high visibility clothing, if they are walking or cycling to school or if they are playing outside, as the winter starts to set in and the evenings get darker sooner.

Each year, the RSA strives to reduce the number of deaths and accidents on our roads, and by spreading this message to children from a young age, it will ensure that road safety is something that will be natural and part of their lives, thereby helping to reduce the number of accidents into the future generations.

The awareness week also gives children the opportunity to learn about road safety in a fun and interactive way through their lessons.
