A Kilworth native who is on the waiting list for a kidney and pancreas transplant says she would enjoy more freedom if she wasn’t tied to her dialysis equipment.
Triona Lyons (40), who now lives in Clonmel, has been a dialysis patient for the past six years and has been managing her Type 1 diabetes since she was 10 years old.
She is on the transplant waiting list for a combined kidney and pancreas transplant and has to undergo a form of home dialysis which she receives four times throughout the day.
Triona moved from her native Kilworth twenty years ago, her father Jim and grandmother Kathleen Lyons, still live there.
