Kilworth Celtic ladies take centre stage

Girls/ladies/women are an important part of the Kilworth Celtic FC family. Very much to the fore in supporting the Republic of Ireland women’s team at the recent World Cup, they took centre at last Saturday’s very successful 5-a-side tournament. 

A combination of local and visiting teams served up some excellent games in what were very warm conditions. These talented soccer players were under the watchful eye of special guest Fermoy’s Stephen O’Leary. Stephen, who blazed a trail at the recent Special Olympics, said he was impressed by what he saw. 

“It was pretty hot out there so fair play to the girls, it’s great to see soccer being promoted so heavily in Kilworth, the facilities here are very good” he said.
