This weekend marks the end of an era for Valerie and Pat Collins, as they are having their final farewell party in The Winchester pub and hotel in London before moving to Kildare.

Originally from Kildorrery, Valerie told The Avondhu, that leaving The Winchester will mark the end of their 29 years in business in the popular pub. Valerie's husband Pat is from Camden, but his parents are from Cork originally, so the pair will be reconnecting with family and friends once they hit Ireland.

Having spent almost three decades behind the bar, Valerie said that herself and Pat have made many good friends and they will miss the social aspect of running The Winchester, but they are looking forward to moving to Ireland ...
