Kia Ireland has achieved a 7.75% market share for the first quarter of 2022. This represents a record share for the company and is up 1.8% from 2021.
In a flat market up just 4% from 2021, Kia is up 35% and is third ranked behind market leaders Toyota and Hyundai. Key product drivers for this years growth were new models Sportage and EV6 .
Kia Irelands results follow a strong performance by the brand throughout Europe in the January /February results announced last month. These results have highlighted a strong start to the year, in which Kia’s market share grew by 1.4% to reach an impressive 5.3% for the first two months of the year.
Ronan Flood, Managing Director of Kia Ireland commented: “Quarter 1 2022 is certainly a milestone for the Kia Brand in Ireland with an historic third place in the market. Kia have faced the same supply problems as other manufacturers but we are delighted to have pushed out nearly 4000 units to dealers and customers and we are working hard to fill a backlog of orders ,especially for Irish and European Car of the Year, the Kia EV6 .
“We look forward to this momentum continuing with new product on the way including the all-new Niro arriving in the next few months,” he concluded.
