Styles and fashions come and go, but Joe Murphy's Menswear in Fermoy remains firmly in place. Started by Ray Murphy's father, Joe, 54 years ago, the Pearse Square store (it started in Patrick Street) remains committed to dressing and styling the man of the house.

It's a trade that doesn't stand still and the spacious building has undergone many transformations over the decades - the most recent being the move to create a suit-hire business (which is situated over the shop).

The modern male is now more discerning than ever when it comes to clothes and in between his work attire and suit, is a whole range of 'smart casual' which Joe Murphy's continues to specialise in.

Brands and labels change pretty frequently, however 2013 has definitely been the year of 'Superdry', 'G-Star', 'Eto Jeans', '6th Sense' and Ulster's finest, 'Tommy Bowe' (who also has a footwear range).

Thankfully it looks like being another busy Christmas for Ray and his co-workers, John O'Mahony (Ballynoe), Seamie Daly (Ballyduff Upper) and Patricia Owens (Killavullen). Ray is in no doubt that his long-serving staff have been critical to the store's success over the last 54 years.

Readers are advised that currently Joe Murphy's Menswear is offering 20% off regular stock, in addition to a 50% reduction on an extensive range of other items. Patrons are also reminded of the free parking in the town's car parks - so where better to shop for your Christmas fashion!
