Irish drivers are eagerly anticipating the arrival of Ireland’s best-selling hybrid SUV, the Toyota RAV4 in a brand-new Plug-In Hybrid variant, as the first allocation of online reservations is fully reserved.

The Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid is the first vehicle to have been given a pre-sale opportunity in Toyota’s line-up of passenger vehicles. With the allocation for pre-sale reservations fully being reserved now, Toyota has seen remarkable interest in the registrations for the new RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid SUV.

It has surpassed the company’s initial targets, and customers will expect to receive their new vehicle in January 2022. Customers that have successfully pre-ordered the new Toyota RAV4 plug-in hybrid will enjoy a driving range of up to 75km in zero emissions EV mode (WLTP) on a full battery charge.

The highly fuel-efficient SUV is available in two grades (Sol and Sport), with prices starting from €50,775* or €348** per month on Toyota Finance PCP with an APR rate of 3.9%.***

Customers who are looking to purchase a new RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid in time for January 2022 are encouraged to speak to their local Toyota dealership as soon as possible, as there is high demand and limited stock availability, so early orders are necessary for a January delivery.

Commenting on the online registration announcement, Michael Gaynor, Marketing Director of Toyota Ireland said: “We’re delighted with the success of the online reservations for the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid, and the fact that Irish drivers are happy to put down a €1,000 deposit without having driven the new model certainly testifies to the popularity of the RAV4 model and the desire for a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

“With a best-in-class electric range of up to 98km in urban settings and up to 75km combined, it’s a clear winner for those who want to drive electric throughout the week but can rely on the efficient hybrid system for longer drives. This new plug-in hybrid car signifies a new chapter in the Toyota electrification journey, and we are delighted that Irish customers have fully embraced this voyage with us.”

The new RAV4 plug-in hybrid draws on more than 20 years of Toyota leadership in hybrid powertrain technology. This newest version is more powerful, yet environmentally cleaner and more efficient than any car in its class and will sit at the pinnacle of the fourth generation of the RAV4 range.

Its introduction strengthens and extends the appeal of the RAV4, the model which created the market for recreational SUVs, and which has amassed more than 10 million worldwide sales. Demos are expected to arrive in Toyota dealerships in early December 2021.
