The achievements of Mark Moloney, Clodagh Bermingham, Elodie Ruelle and Stephen McInerney were recognised at a ceremony held in Mitchelstown Tennis Club last Friday evening.
This talented quartet created a bit of history for themselves by returning from Castlebar recently with the National Interprovinical Cup – in the process, bringing great honour to themselves, their club and their province. A much coveted title, the north Cork representatives played some outstanding tennis en route to a memorable victory in an ultra competitive tournament.
‘WONDERFUL AMBASSADORS’
Addressing those present, the club’s head coach, Stephen McInerney, explained how inclement conditions and tough opponents were overcome. Stephen went on to say that the win was a massive boost for Mitchelstown Tennis Club. Mark, Clodagh and French national, Elodie, also spoke about the work ethic and determination that helped secure the win.
