A meeting due to be held on Thursday, June 28 between Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) and Cork County Council executives regarding Fermoy Weir never materialised.

The IFI informed the Council prior to the meeting that it would not be attending as it had ‘no plans to change the agreement made with Cork County Council in 2014 in relation to the complete repair of the weir’, those attending the Fermoy Weir meeting in Mallow last Monday were informed.

IMPACT STUDY

The meeting was told that the economic impact study which was due to be carried out on the weir following an agreement by councillors at the first meeting with divisional manager James Fogarty, has yet to be completed.
