Parents from Mitchelstown were said to be shocked and angry at the latest bout of vandalism to hit the town last weekend.
Just weeks after the Mitchelstown Community Playground was refurbished by Cork County Council and Mitchelstown Community Council, vandals struck, causing unrepairable damage to fencing being used to cordon off one of the attractions at the playground.
The thugs also threw rubbish all around the playground area. Empty bottles and paper wrappings were scattered all over the place and tampons and used condoms were also found.
