Conditions were good, the crowd extensive and the atmosphere festive for last Saturday evening's official switch on of Mitchelstown's Christmas lights.
Off the main thoroughfare and away from the pressure of traffic, New Market Square makes for an ideal location for this formal start to the festive season.
Children made up a large portion of the crowd and they were delighted with the switching on experience, which will brighten up the town for shoppers and locals in the coming weeks throughout the Christmas period.
