Significant dumping incidents were reported across west Waterford over the festive period, as beauty spots, rural roads, graveyards and residential areas were used as ‘dumping grounds’ for rubbish.
Local councillor, Donnchadh Mulcahy has highlighted the issue as a ‘blight’ on the area, stating that illegal dumping continues to be a serious and growing problem across the region.
“From household waste and construction materials to tyres, furniture and electrical goods, the scale and frequency of dumping is deeply frustrating for local residents who take pride in their areas.
