Cullen man, Conor O’Connor, has been appointed by ICMSA, the state’s specialist dairy farmer organisation, to the position of local development officer for Cork.
The county is seen as a heartland of the dairy sector and ICMSA and Mr O’Connor’s appointment is commensurate with the importance the association attaches to its Cork membership.
Conor farms with his father, Aiden, on the family dairy farm from which they supply North Cork Creameries.
He has worked with Farm Relief Services (FRS), Dairygold and Kerrygold and he holds a degree in Agricultural Science from C.I.T. and is also member of Millstreet Macra and Cullen GAA.
The president of ICMSA, Pat McCormack, said that the association was delighted with the appointment and Mr O’Connor was superbly qualified and committed to the farm families who were the bedrock of both the rural economy of Cork and the ICMSA.
