Staff from Inland Fisheries Ireland and local anglers saved approximately 250 dace on Friday last from the Mill Race in Fermoy.

The shoals of fish got stuck in the Mill Race as the water level has dropped significantly as a result of the ongoing deterioration of the weir. 

A spokesperson for Inland Fisheries Ireland stated that the IFI attended the Mill Race in Fermoy last Friday to carry out an inspection at the site.
