The HSE Mitchelstown Dental Clinic will not be reopening, the HSE have confirmed. The clinic, located on the outskirts of the town between the Maxol service station and The Firgrove Hotel, was closed in March 2020 at the outbreak of the Covid pandemic.
Cllr Deirdre O’Brien deplored the news, which was confirmed by the HSE to The Avondhu this week.
“Covid-19 is still around, and we have to learn to live with it, but why does it appear to give rise to so many services using it as a scapegoat for closing their facilities in towns and villages?” the Mitchelstown councillor said on hearing the news this week.
