This weekend, a moment in history will be marked on the Galtees, as Mass will be celebrated at the Celtic cross for the first time in 40 years.

The walk is suitable for all and will also be a fundraiser for the Ballylanders Church roof fund, so all support would be greatly appreciated. Mass will be celebrated by Fr Breen, who said that the mountain is a sacred place and Saturday will be a day to remember.

Walkers will meet at 10am in King's Yard for the Mass at 12.30pm on Saturday, April 26. Those who don't feel up for the walk but would like to be part of the momentous event, are invited to come along at 3pm for singing, music and dance in King's Yard. Galty Valley catering will provide refreshments from their new mobile unit.

Anyone taking part in the walk is asked to wear strong footwear, appropriate clothing and to bring water. All money raised through sponsorship will go towards the roof fund for Ballylanders Church. All are welcome to what promises to be a truly unique and spiritual event.
