The Glanworth GAA club are coming together this Sunday to pay tribute to the memory of Micheal 'Haulie' Murphy with a minor hurling game in Glanworth at 2pm.

Haulie tragically passed away on August 23, 2013 and his family have now donated a memorial trophy for Sunday's game, which it is hoped will become an annual event.

This Sunday, the minor teams from Glanworth and Kilworth will battle it out on the field for the memorial trophy and this match is even more significant, as the team is the one that young Haulie would have been playing with, if he was still with us.

On the day, admission is free, people will also have the opportunity to view the club's new facilities and there will be tea, soup and sandwiches afterwards.

The club are hoping that there will be a good turnout on Sunday, as this will be a fitting tribute to Haulie and his love of hurling.

Anyone who would like to make a donation of food for the day is asked to contact the juvenile club chairman Gerard Murphy on 087-4166576 or any committee member.
