Many old friendships were renewed in Ballylooby on Sunday last when the Old School reunion took place in the comfortable surroundings of the Community Hall, the building transformed many years ago from the old school building.
The school closed back in 1964 and this was the first ever reunion to be held. Former pupils came from near and far for this very special event and the organisers were delighted to welcome their Parish Priest, Fr John Nally who addressed the gathering.
Pat Reidy, the chairperson of Ballylooby Community Council, welcomed all the guests and spoke briefly about the organisation of the event and and gave a brief history of the old school. He then conducted a roll call which was answered impeccably – something that caused great mirth amongst those assembled.
