Conditions were perfect for last Sunday's very well supported ConnaBride Vintage Rally. The event, run by a dedicated group of volunteers, was, once again a great organisational and financial success.
The venue, Gallagher's Field, was neatly presented, with vintage tractors, classic cars and a selection of motorcycles, lined up for the public to inspect. The threshing machine buzzed away, looking and sounding as good as the day it was purchased.
A well situated chip van did a steady trade all day, as did the ConnaBride Tea Tent situated close to the stage (a McDonnell Brothers-supplied trailer that was ideal for the job). This was where Declan Aungier performed – the talented musician keeping patrons well entertained for a good part of the afternoon. …
