A call has been made this week on the incoming Government to overhaul the School Transport Scheme in order to 'reflect the reality for working families across North and East Cork'.

According to Cork East TD, Seán Sherlock, the School Transport Scheme is not fit for purpose as it is currently designed and families are being unfairly treated because of it."

Deputy Sherlock’s call for reform comes as parents were recently reminded that the School Transport Scheme for the next academic year is currently running, and those who wish to avail of this service must apply online by Friday, April 24.
