2017 will be a year to remember for 11-year-old Mitchelstown golfer Tristan Nolan after the youngster shot a 1 under par round at Fota Island Golf Course to capture the Irish Kids Golf Tour Munster Boys U11 trophy.

Earlier this year, Tristan hit the headlines after he recorded a hole-in-one on the 17th hole at Mitchelstown Golf Course, becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to achieve such a feat and he was also part of the Mitchelstown Junior team that won the Avondhu Shield which included teams from Mallow, Kanturk and Doneraile.

Continuing his good form throughout the summer months the 16 handicapper said he ‘felt good’ ahead of the Irish Kids Golf Tour Munster competition and knew he was in a good position to claim the trophy after carding a front nine in 1 under par.
