The Volkswagen Golf is without question, Ireland’s most popular cars, with almost 15,800 Golf models sold since the current seventh-generation model was launched in Ireland in 2012.
The car is popular with every demographic and remains the embodiment of mainstream-premium – high quality that is accessible to a large audience. The Golf remains the benchmark in its segment.
In advance of the July registration plate, Volkswagen Ireland has released details of its ‘162’ offers on the Golf and Golf Estate.
The Golf and Golf Estate now come with three trim levels; the Trendline and Highline will be familiar to customers, but the Comfortline model has been replaced by a new trim level which is a special edition, known as Allstar.
Trendline itself has been improved regarding specification, with the addition of Composition Media Radio, Cruise Control, Leather Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Media in Function for iPod / iPhone, Multi-Function Display Plus, Rear Electric Window on 5 Door.
The addition of a €162 Innovation Pack adds 16” Toronto Alloy Wheels, Front Fog Lights, Tinted Rear Windows and App-Connect. The Golf Trendline starts from €20,385.
The new Allstar model replaces the popular Comfortline specification and features new specification in addition to the previous Comfortline model, including 16” ‘Linas’ alloy wheels, Allstar lettering scuff plates on the door sill, a “Pentastripe” Upholstery Design, Decorative inserts “Zirconium” for dashboard and door trims, Allstar Emblem on wing, Voice Control, Tinted Rear Windows, Discover Media Sat Nav, Panoramic Sunroof, Floor Mats with Allstar stitching, Park Distance Control, Adaptive Cruise Control, Media-In Function for iPod / iPhone, Light Assist, a Lights & Vision Package and Rear View Camera.
The addition of a €162 innovation pack adds Electric Folding Mirrors, App-Connect and Keyless Start on 5 door. The Golf AllStar range starts from €24,100.
Highline models, which are the most popular choice amongst Irish buyers, now get Discover Media Sat Nav, Light Assist, Media in function for iPod / iPhone, Keyless Access on 5 Door, Rear View Camera, Voice Control and Vienna Leather Upholstery, in addition to the already generous standard equipment.
The addition of a €162 Innovation Pack will also add 18” Durban Alloy Wheels, LED Darkened Rear Lights and App-Connect. In the Estate model, the €162 Innovation Pack adds a Winter Pack instead of the Darkened Rear LEDs. The Golf Highline range starts from €25,965.
The Golf GTD model now comes with Discover Media Sat Nav, Light Assist, Media in for iPod / iPhone, Light Assist, Keyless Access and Start on 5 Door, Rear View Camera and Voice Control as standard. The €162 Innovation Pack for GTD adds a Dynaudio Speaker system and App-Connect.
The Golf GTI now comes with two models, the standard 220bhp GTI and the new 40th Anniversary Special Edition Clubsport. The latter comes with 265bhp and will start at a price of €43,375 and replaces the previous GTI with Performance Pack.
GTI, Clubsport GTE and Golf R models for 162 get Discover Media Sat Nav, Light Assist, Media in for iPhone / iPod, Keyless Access and Start for 5 door, Rear View Camera and Voice Control and with the addition of the €162 Innovation Pack gets the Dynaudio Speaker System and App-Connect.
In the case of the GTE, the €162 Innovation Pack adds a Panoramic Sunroof and App-Connect.
