Last autumn saw Glanworth Players host a series of workshops with professional facilitators and, keen to work on what was learnt, we have begun rehearsals for our next production which we will present in early April. The group have chosen Geraldine Aron’s ‘Same Old Moon’ and we welcome Donal Howard who has taken on the tough task as director for this fast moving and challenging play.

Glanworth Players have welcomed some new members this year and along with some of our regular members we hope to put on a show to remember! The play is a sometimes autobiographical look at main character Brenda Barnes’ journey to be an aspiring writer. Depicted in the play from ages nine to forty, Brenda is seen through the eyes of her eccentric and sometimes fiery family, leading to some hilarious outcomes as she challenges the norms of her typical Irish family.

The play was first produced by Druid Lane Theatre Company from Galway in April 1984 and Glanworth Players are excited to try and recreate some of the magic from that first production in Glanworth, nearly 30 years later.

Follow us on Facebook and keep your eyes peeled on The Avondhu for more updates as we progress from rehearsal room to stage production!
